![]() ![]() For the majority of users surely this is what they expect from the new feature to reorder modules? On a more basic level, if I have to change the mask in tone equalizer in order to get the histogram centered first, why isn't this the first tab? The manuals suggested workflow for filmicRGB suggests setting '“neutral” parameters: set the the middle grey luminance to 18.45% in the scene tab, and set the contrast to 1 in the look tab', why isn't this the default when you open the module? The long running debate over re-ordering modules seems to have been split between those who understand the mechanics of pixel pipelines and want to alter how the image is processed, and those who don't and just want to put the modules in a logical order through which to work ie broadly exposure - colour - sharpening - retouch. ![]() Bringing older modules together in a legacy group perhaps? There are some new presets which suggest modules and some have been deprecated only appearing if the image has been edited in a previous version of darktable with that module, but I'd have liked it to go further. ![]() I would have liked some more guidance with workflow. Aurélien Pierre's are long and technical, as you might expect from someone who has just spent more than a year looking deeply into the process of raw image development.Īpart from getting used to the new modules, I've had no problems. By the way, before checking out his videos it may be wise to check out the more user friendly ones by Bruce Williams. The contribution of Aurélien Pierre is remarkable especially, as in one of his videos he says he started coding in "C" a year or so back in order to do this work. I've got to congratulate the developers for this major rebuild and rethink of the software. ![]() I couldn't get the ppa to work before and had to download 3.0 manually but this time it worked perfectly, no idea why - probably just me. I've just started using the new darktable on ubuntu 18.04, updated from the open suse build service. ![]()
